Meet Camilla Bjurling (she/her)

Adlerian Therapy • EMDR • AEDP & IFS-Informed Work • Holistic, Person-Centred Approach

Camilla is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (MA, RCC) who brings warmth, curiosity, and a deeply holistic lens to the therapy space. Her work is grounded in the belief that healing involves understanding not just the symptoms, but the whole person, their relationships, work, sense of self, and the patterns that shape how they move through life. Whether supporting clients through anxiety, identity exploration, or trauma, Camilla offers space for clarity, compassion, and reconnection.

Who Camilla Works With

  • Adults: Navigating stress, anxiety, or overwhelm, especially when symptoms feel tangled or hard to explain. She supports clients in uncovering the roots of their experiences and building new ways of relating to themselves.

  • Youth: Exploring identity, self-worth, school or social challenges, or family-related stress. Camilla brings warmth, structure, and a compassionate lens to help young people better understand themselves and develop emotional insight.

  • Couples: Seeking to improve communication, move through conflict, or reconnect emotionally. Camilla offers a calm and practical space to help partners understand one another and build safer, more honest relationships.

Areas of Specialization

  • Anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • Identity, self-worth, and life transitions

  • Developmental and relational trauma

  • Grief and loss

  • Inner critic work and shame

Camilla works from a holistic and trauma-informed lens, integrating somatic awareness, attachment-based understanding, and practical strategies. Clients describe her as thoughtful, emotionally attuned, and grounded in respect.

Approaches Used in Therapy

  • Adlerian Therapy

To understand how early experiences and social roles influence present-day beliefs and behaviours.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

To help clients process and integrate distressing memories or experiences that may still feel present.

  • AEDP-Informed Techniques

To foster emotional healing and deepen self-understanding through safe, relational connection.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)-Informed Work

To explore protective parts and nurture more self-compassionate internal dynamics.

  • CBT & Acceptance-Based Tools

To help shift unhelpful thought patterns and build tools for day-to-day regulation and resilience.

Camilla tailors each session to the person she’s working with, drawing from a wide range of approaches to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

What To Expect

Clients often describe Camilla as warm, intuitive, and nonjudgmental. Her sessions offer both practical support and deeper emotional exploration, depending on where you are in your process. She works collaboratively, always checking in about what feels useful, what feels hard, and what might need more time or care. Her approach balances insight with gentleness, helping clients feel more at home in their own experience.

Outside the Therapy Room

Camilla finds joy in sharing meals with friends, walking her dog by the ocean, and watching her favourite detective shows. She loves dessert, the rhythm of waves, and time spent with her family—especially at the beach or around the dinner table. The ocean is where she feels most grounded, inspired, and at peace.

In-Person and Online Therapy

Camilla offers sessions both online (via JaneApp video) and in person at our Cloverdale office. Her flexible scheduling supports clients across Surrey, Langley, Vancouver, and surrounding communities. Whether you prefer virtual support or the structure of in-person sessions, Camilla will work with you to find what feels most supportive.
