Therapy Intensives in Surrey BC
Deep Work. Real Change. Faster.
Therapy intensives offer an accelerated path for healing, insight, and transformation. These extended, focused sessions allow you to go further than weekly therapy, whether you're stuck, burnt out, or ready to create meaningful shifts.
At Tidal Trauma Centre, we provide trauma-informed therapy intensives for individuals and couples who want to:
Work through a specific trauma or emotional wound
Address relationship patterns or prepare for a transition
Make progress after feeling stuck in traditional therapy
Reclaim energy, insight, and clarity after burnout or life disruption
Kickstart healing with a concentrated, supportive approach
Intensives aren’t just more time. They’re a different container, one that gives your nervous system space to settle, your emotions space to unfold, and your story space to be held with depth and presence.
Who Therapy Intensives Are For
Therapy intensives are especially helpful for:
Individuals with complex trauma or attachment wounds that feel difficult to reach in short sessions
Couples navigating conflict, betrayal, rupture, or reconnection
Professionals and creatives facing burnout, emotional fatigue, or performance blocks
Parents who feel overwhelmed or reactive in cycles that repeat
People in transition, whether entering a new chapter, ending one, or seeking clarity about what’s next
You don’t need to be in crisis. Many clients choose intensives because they’re ready to go deeper, faster and want a format that meets their pace and capacity.
How Therapy Intensives Work
We follow a structured, client-centered process to ensure that your intensive is personalized and supportive:
1. Free Consultation
We begin with a conversation to assess whether an intensive is the right fit. You’ll share your goals, ask questions, and explore potential dates. If it’s not the right option, we’ll suggest alternatives.
2. Pre-Intensive Assessment
Next, we take a deep look at the patterns, pain points, and goals that brought you here. We explore what hasn’t worked in the past and what you're hoping to shift. This step allows us to design your intensive with precision, choosing the right modalities, pacing, and structure for your needs.
3. The Intensive Itself
Intensives are typically held in half-day blocks (3–4 hours), though multi-day options are available. These extended sessions allow time for grounding, exploration, resolution, and integration, all in one sitting. Your therapist will guide you through tailored, trauma-informed work that supports lasting insight and movement.
4. Integration & Follow-Up
After your intensive, we schedule a follow-up call 1–2 weeks later. This is your space to debrief, ask questions, and solidify what’s shifted. We’ll also offer strategies and practices to help you carry the gains forward.
What Makes Intensives Different?
A standard therapy hour often ends just as things start to open. In an intensive, we give your nervous system time to arrive, explore, and shift, without rushing.
Benefits of therapy intensives:
More time to fully process experiences without being cut off
Ability to complete a full therapeutic arc in one session
Space to regulate, explore, and repair at a natural pace
Deep nervous system work that often requires time and containment
Clarity and traction, especially when weekly therapy feels slow or stagnant
Intensives are ideal for people who want to move the needle, not just cope, but shift.
