Meet Laura (she/her)

Trauma-Informed Therapy • Somatic Approaches • Pendulation & Nervous System Awareness • Nature-Inspired Wisdom

Laura is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (MA, RCC) whose work is rooted in warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for each person's inner wisdom. With a trauma-informed, somatic, and integrative lens, she supports clients in learning how to tune into their bodies, find balance between difficulty and strength, and move at a pace that feels manageable. Her approach honours the rhythm of pendulation, gently moving between attention to distress and connection to what feels beautiful, life-giving, or grounded.

Who Laura Works With

  • Adults facing burnout, trauma recovery, life transitions, or emotional disconnection. Laura helps adults rebuild a sense of clarity, agency, and connection with their bodies and values.

  • Couples navigating disconnection, conflict, or changes in relationship dynamics can find support with Laura, who helps them slow down reactive cycles, improve communication, and rebuild safety and trust in their connection.

Areas of Specialization

  • Trauma recovery and nervous system regulation

  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion

  • Anxiety, self-doubt, and inner critic patterns

  • Grief, loss, and life transitions

  • Embodiment and somatic awareness

Laura supports clients with a trauma-informed, body-based approach, always centring client agency and readiness. Her presence is described as calm, grounded, and emotionally intuitive.

Approaches Used in Therapy

  • Somatic and Body-Based Therapies

To increase embodied awareness, regulate the nervous system, and process experiences gently and effectively.

  • Pendulation and Rhythm-Based Work

To alternate between distress and support, helping the body and mind feel safe enough to process difficult material.

  • Time Orientation Practices

To empower clients to choose whether they want to explore the past, present, or future, depending on what feels most helpful in each session.

  • Trauma-Informed Talk Therapy

To reduce shame, explore meaning, and build emotional resilience with compassion and clarity.

  • Nature-Inspired and Movement-Based Integration

To support connection, vitality, and reverence for life through body movement and time in nature.

Laura works collaboratively with each client, adapting the structure and depth of sessions to match the nervous system's capacity and the client's personal goals.

What To Expect

Sessions with Laura are warm, spacious, and rooted in deep presence. She listens closely to what your body, beliefs, and instincts are saying, and helps you move at a pace that honours both your challenges and your strengths. Clients often report feeling calmer, more hopeful, and more connected to themselves after sessions.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore what feels hard, as well as what makes life worth living. Whether you are navigating trauma, seeking balance, or simply wanting to feel more alive in your body, Laura offers a space of reverence and restoration.

Outside The Therapy Room

Laura finds grounding in the wild beauty of the Kootenays, where she can often be found walking along rivers and lakes with her two dogs. She snowboards in fresh powder, runs mountain ridges, and paddles alpine lakes seeing movement as both meditation and prayer. When she’s not in motion, she’s likely cheering on her teenage son or soaking up the joy of learning alongside him.

Online Therapy Across British Columbia

Laura offers online therapy through secure JaneApp video sessions, making it easy to access support whether you're in Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria, Prince George, or a smaller rural community across BC. Her virtual practice is designed to be flexible and accessible, meeting you where you are, geographically and emotionally.
