EMDR • Somatic Approaches • CBT & DBT • Trauma & Chronic Pain Specialist
When life feels heavy, chaotic, or hard to manage, Laura offers a steady presence and clear therapeutic path forward. She works with adults across British Columbia who are navigating the emotional and physiological impacts of trauma, grief, and chronic stress. With over 16 years of experience, Laura brings clinical depth and human warmth to every session. Her goal is to help clients move from overwhelm toward clarity and connection.
Who Laura Works With
Adults: Laura supports adults across BC who are living with post-traumatic stress, chronic health issues, burnout, or the long-term effects of painful relationships. She understands how emotional and physical distress can interact, and offers a practical yet emotionally attuned path toward relief and recovery.
Couples: Laura also works with couples who are struggling with emotional distance, communication challenges, or the aftermath of trauma. Her sessions offer a structured, emotionally intelligent space for repair, reconnection, and clarity.
Laura’s Areas of Specialization
Laura has extensive experience working with people facing some of life’s most painful and complex challenges. Her areas of focus include:
Chronic pain and the mind-body connection
Intimate partner violence and coercive relationship dynamics
Grief, ambiguous loss, and complicated bereavement
Burnout and vicarious trauma among first responders and helping professionals
Shame, self-doubt, and low self-worth after relational trauma
Her therapeutic lens is grounded in trauma theory, nervous system science, and deep respect for each person’s inner wisdom. Clients often describe Laura as calm, clear, and deeply present. She creates a safe environment where even the hardest stories can begin to soften.
Therapies Laura Integrates
EMDR Therapy to support trauma recovery, emotional processing, and the resolution of stuck memories. EMDR helps shift how difficult experiences are held in the nervous system.
Somatic and Mind-Body Practices to help clients regulate their nervous system, reduce reactivity, and reconnect with a sense of internal safety. This is especially helpful when working with chronic pain or trauma stored in the body.
Mindfulness-Informed Therapy to build emotional awareness, manage stress, and strengthen clients’ capacity to stay present with what they feel.
CBT and DBT: to help clients understand their patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and navigate relationships with more ease.
Her integrative approach is always tailored to the person in front of her, weaving together evidence-based tools with compassionate attention to each client’s lived experience.
What To Expect
Laura is often described as calm, clear, and deeply attuned. She offers a steady presence and a thoughtful pace, creating space for reflection and emotional processing without pressure.
Sessions are structured but flexible, responsive to what your nervous system can handle. Whether you’re working through trauma, grief, or chronic stress, Laura helps you explore what’s happening beneath the surface and move toward greater clarity, regulation, and self-trust.
Online Therapy Across BC
Laura provides online counselling through a secure, easy-to-use video platform. This allows clients from Surrey, Langley, Vancouver and beyond to receive high-quality therapy from the comfort and privacy of home.
Online therapy can be especially helpful for people with health concerns, busy schedules, limited mobility, or anyone seeking flexible, location-independent support.
