Meet Troy (he/him)

IFS • AEDP • Somatic & Body-Based Therapies • Systems-Oriented Approach

When emotions feel tangled or hard to name, Troy helps clients reconnect with the parts of themslves they’ve had to mute — including their body’s quiet signals and deeper inner voice. His presence is calm and attuned, offering space for people to explore what their symptoms may be protecting them from, what their nervous system needs to feel safe, and what becomes possible when they meet themselves with curiosity instead of judgment.

Who Troy Works With

  • Adults navigating anxiety, shame, identity questions, or the long-term impacts of developmental and relational trauma. Sessions often focus on self-understanding, emotional integration, and building nervous system capacity.

  • Couples who want to deepen connection, work through conflict, or shift old communication patterns. Troy offers a structured but compassionate space to slow down reactive cycles and reconnect from a place of safety and clarity.

  • Families seeking support for more easeful dynamics, clearer roles, and healing after rupture. His work with families draws from systems theory and body-based awareness to address intergenerational patterns and unspoken needs.

Areas of Specialization

Troy’s work is grounded in trauma theory, systems thinking, and body-based approaches. His areas of focus include:

  • Developmental and relational trauma

  • Identity exploration and self-worth

  • Intergenerational and family system dynamics

  • Men’s mental health and emotional processing

  • Somatic symptoms and nervous system overwhelm

Troy creates a space that is paced with care and grounded in respect. Clients often describe him as steady, thoughtful, and emotionally intelligent — someone who brings both clarity and gentleness to the therapeutic process.

Approaches Used in Therapy

Troy’s integrative approach is grounded in emotional attunement and nervous system awareness, always adapted to the needs and pace of each client.

What To Expect

Clients often describe Troy as calm, grounded, and deeply attuned. He listens not only to what is said, but also to what is happening underneath. With quiet confidence and a steady presence, he creates space for exploration without pressure or analysis.

Sessions with Troy are paced to match your system’s readiness. He balances insight with embodiment, helping clients explore not only how they think about their experiences, but how those experiences live in the body. His approach is collaborative, relational, and never rushed.

Working with Men — And with People of All Genders

Troy works with individuals across the gender spectrum and is affirming of all gender identities and expressions. His therapeutic approach is inclusive, relational, and attuned to the ways gender, culture, and socialization shape our internal world and relational dynamics.

In addition to his broader client work, Troy is often sought out by those specifically looking for a male therapist or a therapist for men. Some clients feel more comfortable beginning therapy with someone who shares aspects of their lived experience. For many men, this means working with a therapist who understands the pressures to stay composed, hide vulnerability, or figure things out alone.

Troy offers a grounded space for men who are:

• Struggling to name or express what they’re feeling

• Carrying unspoken pressure to stay strong or hold it all together

• Exploring fatherhood, masculinity, or shifting relationship roles

• Processing emotions or experiences they’ve never shared aloud

Whether you are beginning therapy for the first time or returning after time away, Troy meets you with presence, clarity, and respect.

Outside The Therapy Room

When he’s not in session, Troy is usually adventuring around Vancouver with his family, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying a quiet moment with coffee in hand. He values stillness in a fast-moving world, especially when it involves the ocean or a second cup.
