I consider myself a lifelong learner and have always been eager to increase my training and expertise. After graduating with my MA in Psychology, I spent eight years developing my skills as a counselling psychologist in two major hospitals and a neuropsychiatric clinic.
As your counsellor, I will work with you to increase your awareness so that you can gain a deeper understanding of your unique needs and guide you to develop skills that improve your relationship with yourself and others. It’s commonly assumed that people go to therapy when they are experiencing symptoms of mental illness or that their life is a mess, but in reality, most people seek therapy when they realize that their quality of life and the quality of their relationships aren’t what they used to be. They know they could be getting more out of life: more joy, more connection, more purpose, more peace. Many high-functioning people find benefit in counselling as it can be the key to unlocking parts of their lives they are missing out on. We all have life experiences that have shaped us and I look forward to understanding yours. My job as your counsellor is to evaluate what is influencing your problems and support you in creating the changes you desire.
I am truly invested in my clients' well-being. Whether it is the daily struggles of life that have you overwhelmed or a life event has flipped your life upside down, I am here to support and guide you through. I have experience and expertise in working with a variety of presenting concerns, including but not limited to: grief & loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, self-harm and PTSD. I also have an extensive background in supporting youth and families with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
I work across all demographics and currently work with youth, adults and couples, in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.
